EGS International UK were contracted to provide inshore oceanographic data collection and analysis services for a site near Alexandria, Egypt.
The investigations are part of a large site investigation to measure coastal erosion near the Rosetta mouth of the River Nile. Since the construction of Aswan High Dam in the 1960s the amount of sediment discharged into the Mediterranean Sea and subsequent erosion of the coastline in this area is of concern to engineering operations associated with the export of LNG.
